Some of the common health issues that Sugar Gliders
Sugar gliders are naturally extraordinarily healthy animals. and healthy animals. And with a proper diet, right temperature, large cage size, toys and socializing, they’ll stay that way. But it isn’t that simple to identify an issue when they do fall sick. These animals are low on the pecking order and therefore are preyed on by other animals. For that reason, they are really good at hiding appearances of illness to appear healthy to predators. Thus , an untrained person might not be ready to recognize the symptoms until it has really advanced.
These marsupials (and not rodents ) require the care and attention of trained vets who can understand and treat exotic pets such as these. So if you notice anything different about you tiny friend, go to a trained vet at once.
Main reasons behind health concerns in sugar gliders
Being left unsupervised
Stress and depression

Here are some common sicknesses of Sugar Gliders : -
Depression – Gliders are highly social creatures and need consistent companionship. Even in their natural habitat, they are almost never found alone. If kept alone, they are going to suffer from stress and depression. Over-grooming, leading to bald patches on fur and skin is an example of the early traces of stress. The glider might finally die out of loneliness.
Constipation – As wild animals, the gliders don’t typically survive on dried food alone. But in captivity, they may eat over the top dried foods such as biscuits, dry glider mix, etc. This frequently leads to bowel obstruction in the gliders and severe cases can result in in death. Symptoms are a protruding abdomen during defecating, occasionally accompanied by a nasal sound from the mouth and really hard and dry droppings.
