Before adopting puppies, specifically, before finding adoptable Akita puppies, there are several things that you need to consider. Here are some of the things you have to take note of prior to actually getting the adoptable Akita puppies you have always wanted.
Double check with yourself if you are in fact, truly ready to adopt an Akita. Dogs are not only pets that will love you and be loyal to you, they are also huge responsibilities. You have to feed them, train them, take them to the vet, make sure they excrete wastes in the proper areas and so on. So if you are adoptable Akita puppies just because you want a dog to show off in the park, then think again.
Also, see if you are financially ready to have a dog, especially if you want to have adoptable Akita puppies. An Akita, whether it is American or Inu, is a big breed and they can consume pounds and pounds of dog food in a day, not to mention the vitamins and vet bills that you will have to shoulder.
Also note that even adoptable Akita puppies, however “good natured” they are still Akitas and they have basic Akita instincts such as – they are a breed that is not too friendly with other pets, especially dogs of the opposite sex and they are also not particularly fond of new faces (but this makes them great dogs for guarding the house).
After you consider these things, and your responses are all in favor of getting adoptable Akita puppies, then you may now be thinking how you can find an Akita to adopt.
There are several ways to find Akitas to Adopt. Below are just some of them:
You can check with your local dog pound, animal rescue center or animal shelter. These centers have a main goal of giving homes to lovable animals and as such, you will not have to pay hefty fees or even none at all. Just be patient and you may be lucky enough to find an Akita in the abandoned dogs home.
You can also check Craiglist as there may be ads there posted for buyers interested with adoptable Akita puppies.
Supermarket bulletin boards, church bulletin boards and even university announcement boards have dogs for sale or for adoption posted. So next time you pass by that huge board at your favorite one stop shop store, take a closer look and you might see someone giving free Akitas to kind pet owners.
There are also websites that specifically cater to pet searches for adoption. It is actually easier to employ such services as they will usually have advance search engines that will let you search for a dog in their kennel depending on breed, age, gender and sometimes, even color.
And of course, pet shops are definite places to find an Akita puppy. If you are lucky and you know the owner, you may be given a great discount but usually pet store originated Akitas are pricey.
