Knowing about male rabbits
You will be able to see a male rabbit’s testicle somewhere around the six-teen week or twenty-week period. Turn the rabbit over where you can see the rabbits belly and look for two pink areas one on each side of the rabbits tail. The male rabbit will reach maturity at the age of six-teen to twenty-weeks of age. This means that the male rabbit is capable of impregnating a female rabbit. The male rabbit is not Monogamous this means that he will mate with more than one female. The male rabbit in the wild will mate with as many females as he can within his warren or territory. The females will also mate with other males within the warren. There are other males within the warren but they usually do not challenge the alpha male in the warren.
If you put a male and female rabbit together, they will mate with each other in a domestic setting. Usually breeders will put the same males with a certain females to produce a certain type or color of offspring. The male rabbits in the domestic setting are usually more dominant over the females that they are, placed to mate. If there is another male around then the males will fight for the right to breed with the female. A males warren can cover much territory so the males are scattered out and usually do not bother one another for dominance. In the warren, there are plenty of females for the males. Therefore the males do not have to fight over them for dominance however occasionally it does happen.
The male rabbit is, referred to as a Buck. Male rabbits are territorial and male rabbits will fight other male rabbits for dominance. It is not, recommended to put or to keep two male rabbits together for any reason. The males unaltered or not will always fight for dominance. A male rabbit will mark his territory by spraying urine around his cage and or your home marking things as his. A male rabbit fight can be fierce and one or both males could be severely injured or fatally injured. A male rabbit who has not been altered will defend itself by biting and standing upon the hind legs and punching the other male. The rabbits can be extremely aggressive when fighting each other. The rabbits can also use the sharp claws or toenails on the hind feet to rip and cut the other challenging rabbit.
You can imagine a bite of a rabbit with the rabbit?s sharp teeth so imagine if you have two pet rabbits and they begin to fight. You should never attempt to reach your hands into the middle of a rabbit fight, as you could be bitten or injured. Use a spray water bottle or throw water onto the rabbits this will cause the rabbits to separate so that the rabbits can be, placed back into their separate cages. Then only allow one rabbit out of the cage at one time for exercise, as the two males will surly fight each time they are around each other.
